WHERE WE'RE FROM

OUR STORY

Our story has two paths that have merged to the road on which we are currently traveling. In the early 1990's, a small group of believers built a church, Solid Rock Assembly of God, on the corner of Rolesville and Robertson Pond Road under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Booher. In 2001, Pastor Glen and his family began attending Solid Rock and after ministering there for a period of over 2 years God called Pastor Glen to plant a church in the Clayton area - on April 11, 2004 Calvary Faith Center was born.

Calvary Faith first met in the cafeteria at River Dell Elementary school and we were greatly blessed. In 2005, the doors to the school were closed due to school personnel constraints. God had made a way for us as the new leadership at Solid Rock contacted Pastor Glen and extended an invitation for the Calvary Faith family to meet in their sanctuary. After prayer and with the consent of both the congregations, our church services were moved to Solid Rock.

In February 2007, the pastor of Solid Rock stepped down to pursue a different ministry opportunity in North Carolina. At the request of the Solid Rock members, Pastor Glen began shepherding the two churches. After much prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, God made the way to merge Solid Rock Assembly of God and Calvary Faith Center in June 2007. The two churches, now one, immediately sprang to life and grew adding new families and new ministries.

In the years since the merge, God has been faithful to build HIs church. Calvary Faith Center is a healthy, growing family of believers. Now with the addition of our Kids Club ministry, our Dynamic Youth Ministry and our support of local and international missionaries and a Community Outreach program that is feeding and meeting the needs of our community. Calvary is truly making a difference in the lives of people in our community and around the world.
